Sensitive Glass
Sensitive glass is an object which is meant for people with eyesight limitations. It is a glass with convex conical shape which has some special features.
It has five sensitive elastic holes in which the user’s fingers are placed with the purpose of feeling the level and temperature of the liquid which it contains. The design of the elastic holes is inspired by the way in which the fingers are placed on the glass when it is used. When the fingers are placed in the holes the flexible material, from which the holes are made, stretch inwards by the absence of liquid. In the other case, the penetration is more difficult because of the pressure of the liquid.
In addition, the sensitive glass has a metallic magnetic strip which is attracted towards a metal faucet (tap) when it is close to it, making it easier during the filling process.
The ergonomic and modern design responds perfectly to the shape of the hand, which makes the product easy to use.
The sensitive glass is a product which has no specialized technological equipment. It is a glass which is designed to utilize the user's hand to transfer the information needed, such as the level and the temperature of the liquid.
The Sensitive Glass has been chosen for the NEU / NOW Amsterdam ONLINE Festival. It is a contest in which designers from around the world take part. The Sensitive Glass has the honor of being chosen to be published on the site of the competition which will be in August 2015. It is amongst the top 30 competitors of 5.000 projects.

The Battle
furniture design serie
jCUBE
The jCUBE is a lamp
which was created for the FABBIAN contest, in which it took part and won the
5th place out of 479 competitors. It has been designed with inspiration of the minimal
Cubetto silhouette (the bestseller lamp of Fabbian). In my design I wanted to
incorporate the clearness and minimal form of Fabbian’s products in combination
with my philosophy on industrial design. The jCube contains crystalic sticks
which travel on the sides of a cube. This ‘trip’ leads to a game of shadows on
the walls. The shape of the product is just a cube like the title says.
The lamp is made of moulded crystal which is placed on a metal base. The
simplicity of my product gives it the opportunity to transform in order to make
a wall lamp or a lamp with a combination of more than one cube.
The jCUBE4 is the transformation of jCUBE, a more flexible lamp. Indeed, the lamp has a simple form and is designed including the effect with shadows. It can be used as a unit (wall, table) and as a combination of four units (ceiling, table, floor-standing). The jCUBE4 can be assembled by anyone, demonstrating the versatile design. |
